Why summer reading programs are important…

…it’s because you WIN stuff! Yes, Library Sherpa is pleased to announce that I am the first winner of the Upper Dublin Public Library’s
Adult Summer Reading Program contest. I can just hear my sister, Insurance Sherpa, now, “That’s so unfair, she wins everything!” I won for my entry after reading the Betty Smith classic, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. I’d like to say there was skill involved, but I believe it boils down to good old-fashioned luck. I look forward to picking up my prize, and of course I’ll post my winnings here so I can continue to bask in the glory of being a summer reading program winner. Some may cry foul because I am a librarian. I don’t think that should disqualify me. I just hope there isn’t a drug test. Is caffeine considered a performance-enhancing substance when it comes to summer reading?!

You won it fair and square, Library Sherpa! I’m the one in charge of the adult reading program and our library director took the entries up to the front desk and had someone pull an entry randomly.
Ok, now I have to know. Where are you a librarian?
Congratulations!
